Artist: Revolution Mother
Album: Rollin With Tha Mutha
Year: 2009
Genre: Punk/Thrash/Sludge/Doom Metal
Revolution Mother, featuring Pro-Skater Mike Valley, is what Black Label Society would sound like if they were a punk band. This is D.R.I. style skate-thrash covered in Sludge and then launched out of a cannon. Yeah sure Hennry Rollins and Zach De LaRoche are some angry sounding dudes but Mike V. is the real deal. Just search YouTube for “Mike V. fights” videos; he’s kind of an as… a really nice guy. As for the music and the band I’d have to say “You know that soud you’ve been lookin’ for”. “Rollin With Tha Mutha” is non-stop in-yer-ear and out-yer-ass unadultrated bricka-bracka fire-cracka punk-sludge-thrash n’ roll awesomeness.

Artist: The Holy Mountain
Album: Enemies
Year: 2006
Genre: Hardcore/Punk, Sludge
Here’s another band that I know very little about and only became aware of them due to their Split EP with Black Tusk. I’m not sure where I read it (maybe the SludgeSwamp) but I guess The Holy Mountain have disbanded. “Enemies” is a no holds bared Hardcore/Punk album with a think coating of Sludge that would be a perfect soundtrack to a day of skating a half-pipe. Right now I’m just not that into Hardcore/Punk due to my current obsession with Sludge/Doom Metal or more to the point my obsession with Black Tusk but I’m sure at some point I’ll be playing the shit of this album.
