I’ve been hitting the doom pipe pretty hard lately.  I guess with any type of music the more that you are exposed to it the more you’ll start to like it.  Let the Night Roar is one of the few Sludge/Doom bands that I liked on the first listen.  They fit somewhere in between Black Pyramid and Black Tusk by filling in the gap with a Black Sabbath meets Slayer style.

Black Pyramid, Let the Night Roar, Ocean and Sun Gods in Exile will be playing at Genos House of Rock in Portland, ME on May 7, 2010. 

“JL”, an old room-mate of mine plays bass in Sun Gods in Exile.  Back in the day (like 1996) JL and I used to jam in the basement of the house we were living in aptly named “The House of Men”.  JL played guitar and I played drums and when our other room-mates weren’t jamming out Neil Young covers; JL and I would thrash out some Slayer.
